* "My Ellis and Many Other Lines of Genealogy Home Page"*

Updated August 11, 2005

I am researching the "Ellis" family that were in Maryland in 1770's and 1780's before moving to Woodford County, Kentucky in 1792. The oldest relative we have found is Obediah Ellis, b. ca 1743. His known children are Eleazer Ellis who married Rebecca Onion in Frederick, Maryland and Rachel Ellis who married Henry Sheets, and Israel Ellis. In 1795, this line is in Franklin County, Kentucky and then in 1819 in Owen County, Kentucky. Obediah died in Scott County, Kentucky in 1825. He was a surveyor in Kentucky and a planter in Maryland. He was listed as one of four founders of the Salem Methodist Church in Scott Co., Kentucky.
Other lines we are working on are Thompson and Susong from Greeneville, Tennessee in 1877. John Moore that moved to Fayette Co., Kentucky from Orange and Culpepper, Virginia in about 1803. Bruner, Blackburn, and Hamilton that were in Clark County, Kentucky.

My Alabama lines are Ross, Wells, Talbert, Grace, and Salter. These lines appear to be mostly from Conecuh County and Monroe County.

We would love to hear from you and meet new cousins. Please contact us if you are working on these lines.
