Our genealogy pursuit has been inspired by family members who have left as part of their legacy, family histories.Whether a published book or a pile of research papers, their efforts have given us a glimpse of history and of our ancestors. Using the wealth of information already available, we have set out to expand our ancestorial roots. When we started we knew the LOWDERMILK line had been researched to the immigrating ancestors and beyond. We quickly learned of others, including: DANIEL, PARISHO, STOVALL, and VUNCANNON. We were also lucky to have access to major research efforts that had been done for the MORGAN, BRYAN, WATSON and WEAVER lines.Extensive research has since been discovered for several other lines which include: HARTWELL, INGRAM, KINCAID, STARKEY, PINSON, HARRIS, HEARNE, HODGES, MILLSAPS and REAVIS. Surnames we are currently focusing our efforts on include: BAKER, BURKE, COLE, HENDRICKSON, LASSITER, and LEWIS. As our research has evolved and expanded, Zipra has discovered that she has many Quaker lines in both her father and her mother's ancestry. The Quaker lines that she has proven include: ALBERTSON, ATWOOD, BEALS, BELSON, BOGUE, BOWATHER, BUNDY, CLAYTON, GRIFFIN, HENLEY, JESSUP/JESSOP, JORDAN, NEWBY, NICHOLSON, NIXON, PARISHO/PERISHO, PEASE, RICKS/RIX/RICKESIS, SMALL, TOMS, and TOOKE. Two primary lines of ongoing research are: HARTWELL My HARTWELL roots begin in Virginia.JOHN HARTWELL, JR. was born in 1781 in Franklin Co., VA.He married Sarah (Sally) Smith, born 1785, the daughter of John Smith and Phoebe. This branch of Hartwells has several legends associated with it and a link between the Virginia Hartwells and the New England Hartwells remains elusive.I am looking for other descendants of his son, LORENZO DOW HARTWELL, born 1803, as I research to find the immigrating ancestors. and WEAVER EDWARD WEAVER and his brothers, WILLIAM, JOHN, AND HENRY (sons of WILLIAM WEAVER, b 1698 Surry Co., VA, md Elizabeth Unknown), were among the earliest settlers of Granville Co., NC.Edward's son, William, was the father of JOHN W. WEAVER.John was born 1800 and married ANN PINSON in 1821.They had the following children:Emily, James, Weaver girl, William Henry (my great-grandfather) George, Daniel, Zachariah, and John.Connecting EDWARD WEAVER to his father, supposedly JOHN WEAVER, with concrete proof remains our goal. |
