Father of Daniel Anton McDuffie. My Great Grandfather. Born March 29, 1856 in Atlanta, Georgia. Was reported to have stolen Gen. William T. Sherman's sword as he was staying in the same hotel with him. Don't know if there is any truth to this story. He would have been a little boy when Sherman came through Atlanta. During the War Between the States, his family moved to Rome, Georgia. His father was an alderman in Atlanta.
