Notes for Jesse M Edwards: My Grandmother (Lillian Ellen Conway(Robinson)), told my mother (Elizabeth Nancy Owens (Karadimos & Conway) about a story of Grandma's mother(Nannie Eliza Robinson(Ackerman) marrying a man named Jesse M. Edwards after her husband, Joseph Robinson passed away. She married him around 1932. He supposedly committed suicide by poisoning himself at their home. and they were so afraid that he had planted some poison for his step-daughter, my grandmother to find that they sent her to stay with relatives while the house was searched. Apparently, Jesse Edwards, for some reason, hated his step-daughter Lillian Ellen Robinson. This apparently took place in San Francisco, California.
The only documentation that I have been able to find is a 2-line newspaper clipping from my Great-Aunt's photo album (my sister Paulla has the album). It appears to be a marriage announcement. It reads as follows:
"JESSE M. EDWARDS, 46, 154 NUEMAN ST., AND NANNIE E. ROBINSON, 42, 3311A ARMY ST."
There is no visible date or name of newspaper. I have never found anything else about him or his death. This story was related to me (Barbara Ann Moudy(Wilson) by my mother, Elizabeth Nancy Owens(Karadimos(Conway)) around 1997.
Going by the age of Nannie Robinson, which it says is 42 and knowing she was born in 1890, I can safely say that they were married sometime in 1932. So, if he was 46 in 1932 he was probably born sometime in 1886.
