MAURER and/or MOWRER

Kurt C. Mowrer's family currently resides in Southern Illinois. Looking back thru family records, the following lineage was discovered: Johannas + Martha (Alberts) Maurer from Holland to Germany around 1770 then to Little York, PA about 1773. One of their children, Henry, changed his last name spelling to Mowrer, moved to OH (Ashland County), married Sara (?). In 1836 Henry and two of his sons, George Washington and Isaiah J. moved to Richland County, IL. Henry returned to OH. Isaiah J. married Julia Ann (Cliff), had a number of children, one being Cliffe Daniel Mowrer who married Olive May (Fields). They had a very large family. Born to them was Everett Eugene m. Frances Rosella (Read). Kurt C. is their son.

Much research has been completed by other relatives pertaining to George Washington Mowrer and Isaiah J. Mowrer. Should anyone be interested, just let me know. The above history is very basic, much more is available.
