This site outlines the descendants of: JURG (George) MAURER-MOURER, Born 1720 & Died 1776 in Shenandoah, Co. VA. & Wife : ANNA MARIA (also know as Ann Mary) _________? Born ___? Died 1785 in Shenandoah, Co. VA. They were pioneers to Shenandoah Co., VA. through a 357 acre Land Grant from Lord Thomas Fairfax to what was then named, Augusta, CO. VA. about 1750. The county was renamed Dunmore, Co. VA. for a short time, then renamed again to Shenandoah, Co. VA. as it is known today. The Land Grant was drafted with the anglicized spelling, GEORGE MOWERY.

This file gives a known history to date on George & Ann Mary Maurer's life while living in Shenandoah , Co. VA. George & Anna Maria Maurer were German descendants. Jurg (George) Maurer-Mourer, age 23, arrived in Philadelphia, Pa. on ship ST. ANDREW, Oct. 07, 1743. The ship was dispatched from Rotterdam, Holland.
George & Anna Maria Maurer had 6 sons and 2 daughters known to date. A DESCENDANT REPORT is listed below on sons: JOHN MOURER, GEORGE MOURER, MICHAEL MOURER, VALENTINE MOWERY and LEONARD MOURER. Son PHILIP MAURER, and daughers BARBARA MOURER KNISELEY & ANNA MARIA MOURER RODEHEFFER are listed in the related files below. Only 4 generations on each son are listed, starting in the 1750s through about the 1920s. This is to protect the identity of those persons living today.
