Descendants of James Mozley

Generation No. 2

2. EDWARD MOZLEY2 SR. (JAMES1 MOZLEY) was born Abt. 1735 in Lived in Amhurst Co., Bedford Co., Va. and then Wilkes Co., Ga., and died Unknown in Prob. Georgia. He married MARY MCDANIELS Abt. 1758 in Probably Virginia, daughter of ARCHIBALD MCDANIELS.

Notes for E
DWARD MOZLEY SR.:
Information concerning this geneology has been obtained from the collection of N.A. Mozley which he wrote December 12, 1893. Mary (Mollie) L. Mozley copied this for her neice, Archa Mozley Mosley. The original handwritten peice is in the possession of Archa Mosley, Jonesboro, Illinois. Raymond A. Mozley, Ohio, signed and notorized that this is true August 16, 1976. Raymond is now deceased. I obtained the copy that I have from Russell Mozley of Atlanta, Georgia who was in close correspondence with Raymond and assisted him in his research.

Edward Jr. was known as Edwin. The name has been spelled many ways--Mosley, Moseley, Mosely, Mozley and Mozely, and even Mousley. Some of the ancestors believed that they were all the same people.

Children of E
DWARD SR. and MARY MCDANIELS are:
4. i.   JAMES3 MOSELEY, b. Abt. 1760, Virginia; d. September 25, 1835, Marshall, Bedford Co., Tennessee.
ii.   SARAH MOZLEY, b. Abt. 1761, Virginia; m. JOHNATHAN PRATHAER, September 30, 1780, Bedford County, Virginia.
  Notes for SARAH MOZLEY:

iii.   ARCHIBALD MOSELEY, b. Abt. 1762, Virginia.
  Notes for ARCHIBALD MOSELEY:
Raymond Mozley put in his geneology report that this Archibald married Sarah Vaden and moved to Alabama. In reading through N.A. Mozley's collation, I believe that this is not correct. I don't know who this Archibald married. N.A. wrote, "James (my grandfather's uncle) sons married and emigrated as follows:
Caleb married---Betsey Murray
Turner's wife's name is unknown. He married, however, and emigrated to Alabama.
Archibald married---Sarah Vaden, and went to Alabama."

James, above, is the son of Edward and Mary McDaniels and brother to this Archibald. N.A. did not address the marriage of this Archibald for whatever reason.

William Vaden is the husband of Catherine, sister of Polly, according to notarized and signed copy of letter written by N.A. Mozley dated December 12, 1893. N.A. (Norman Adolphus) is the sone of Archibald T., son of John N., son of John, son of Edward, son of James who is reported to be from England and the progenator of this geneology.
