Find Family

This page is dedicated to the current search for ancestors, cousins, and related history of these two families.

The Mullin family is of Irish decent and mainly settled in the Philadelphia, PA area. The first Mullen's to arrive in the US (1864)were Michael and family (Ann Weldon Mullin (wife) and 5 children (Ellen, Edward, Daniel Joseph, and James Augustine). They supposedly immigrated from County Tyrone, Ireland.

Surprise... surprise... We have just recently learned that my paternal Grandmothers birth name was actually Chew. She was raised a Ryder but we have learned that this was the name of her step-fathers family and not a blood relative. This came as quite a surprise to all of us in the family and we now have a whole new line to trace. The Chew family of Philadelphia are of English heritage.

Mullin/Mullen researchers please check the attached file on other, as yet, unknown Mullins' buried near my ancestors in Philadelphia. We have not been able to establish a connection to any of them as our relatives but the are all buried in adjoining plots.

There is a heriditary form of Muscular Dystrophy that runs in our family called "Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD)also known as Landouzy - Dejerine Muscular Dystrophy." It came down through my paternal grandmothers line although we are not quite sure which family (Milliken / Storey / Chew). If you have a connection to either of these surnames and have this form of MD in your family please email me. We would love to compare notes.

Other surnames connected with the Mullin/Mullen/Chew side of our family include Weldon, Hogan, Milliken, and Storey.

The Lollar/Stimson families are of Scotch/Irish decent and reside mainly in the North Carolina area. Other surnames associated with the Lollar/Stimson families include Dickey, McFadden, Littlejohn, Gray, Wilkins, Camp.

Thanks to FMT and the internet I have recently had the great fortune to connect with distant cousins, on both sides of our family, providing a wealth of new information to this ever growing family. How exciting!

Are you a relative? Do you have additions or corrections to any of this information? I would love to hear from you soon.
