The Oligny/Olena Family Home PageUpdated September 5, 2000 | |
| The Olena family seems to be an elite group- very few and far between. I am a descendant of Louis Oligny (1804-1904). The census reports list him as French-Canadian, and at some point the last name was changed to Olena. The family lived in Iroquois, Illinois before coming to Kansas. The family settled in Jewell County, Kansas in the middle to late 1800. Other names connected are Cockroft, Patnode, Bernard, Layland, Reed and Detour. I have been at a stand still for quite a while on the Oligny/Olena connection. I am also researching Fenimore, McDade, Thompson, and Young. My husbands line included Mullin, Frank, and Kissling. Anyone with information please e-mail me. I am happy to share any information that I have. |
