OBITUARY
OF
JOHN R. HUTCHINSON
(Great x 4-Grandfather of PAUL D. MULLINS)
Colonel John R. Hutchinson quietly passed away at his home in Lockesburg, Arkansas, November 2, 1899, after many months of pain and suffering from cancer. The deceased was born in Green County, Georiga, September 10, 1819. He was married to Miss Henrietta Furlow December 13, 1841. Brother Hutchinson was a member of the Masonic Fraternity and a member of the ME church from early manhood. He was often honored with official positions. In all relations of life, he was true to his convictions. The write often visited him in his sickness and always found him perfectly submissible to the divine will and often expressing himself as anxious to depart to be with Christ during all of his suffering. It is said that he was never heard to murmur. How grand in the providence of God to live four-score years and then fall asleep in Jesus.
Brother Hutchinson leaves an aged, broken-hearted companion and nine sons and daughters to mourn his loss. May they all treasure his noble traits and live so as to be ready when the Master calls to join him in the skies.
His pastor, W. B. Davis
