  This is the entry in the record book in Hall County from May selling half (350 acres) of his land. The Headright & Bounty Grant is on this sight. No trace of the official filing can be found, but you see him selling it here. I find it hard to believe that this was not the same land.

  This document is the deed transfer from May Mullins to Moses M. Smith of 101.25 acres in 1848. May continued to live on the other half of his land that lay along the main north-south road.

  This is where May Mullins and his family moved to after winning Lot 22 of Section 2 in the 1827 GA Land Lottery. The land was in the NE section of Carroll County and now lies in Douglas County.

  This is the present-day surveyors plot of the Carroll County (now Douglas County) land May owned. All of Lot 22 was his (202.5 acres). It lies on the Dog River and along the main Post Road (a north-south running country highway).

  This is the plat filed by the surveyor for May Mullins land he drew in the 1821 Georgia Land Lottery. It appears he turned around and sold it.

  The highlighted area depicts the area covered by the second Douglas County map I have here. This land lay in Carroll County, GA in the 1800's.

  This inset from the other map gives more detail. There is a cemetary on Tyree Road W-SW of May's land, it contains about 20-30 fieldstone marked graves and could very well contain some Mullins. Others are at Pray's Mill Cemetary in Bill Arp.
• Houston County, GA Land Plat for May Mullins. (34 KB)
  May Mullins drew 2 lots in the 1821 Georgia Land Lottery. One in Houston and the other in Dooly County. The plat for Houston was filed by the surveyor for May, but he appears to never have filed the grant, unlike Dooly County.
