My father, John Muller was born July 5, 1916, the son of Theodore and Corine Hendrix Muller.He served in the Army Air Corps as a B-17 pilot during World War Two, and later volunteered during the Korean War, serving with the 8th Squadron, 49th Fighter-Bomber Group.He was a Mason, a Shriner, and aDeacon in the Presbyterian Church.He was admired and respected by all who knew him.John Muller passed away on June 6, 2000, in Pensacola, Florida. - CaptainJuliusPinckneyHagerty ,CSA (88 KB)
My great-great grandfather, Julius P. Hagerty, enlisted as a private in the 3rd Alabama Infantry Regiment ,April 26,1861.He was severely wounded at the Battle of Seven Pines, in June of 1862.After a long furlough, he was promoted to Captain and was assigned to Company C, 61st Alabama Infantry Regiment.He survived the war, but died in 1870.In 1914, he was posthumously awarded the Southern Cross of Honor, for his service in the Confederate States Army. - Marie Odile Hall (49 KB)
My great-grandmother, Odile Hall Wilson, was born at Bayou Sara, Louisiana, February 24, 1865.She married Wiley Wilson on April 7, 1884, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.They had ten children. Their youngest son, Fred, is shown with his mother in this photograph.Odile Wilson died February 21, 1955, at Mathews Station, Alabama.Although she died when I was only six years old, I do have quite vivid memories of her. - Lunceford Long(1895 - 1985) (25 KB)
My grandfather, Lunceford Long, was born in Sheffield, Alabama, October 16, 1895.He was an electrician, and worked for the federal civil service for many years.He loved his family, and spent many many hours telling me stories about his childhood and his kin.It was this that inspired me to try to "trace my roots".I only wish I could have shared with him all that I have been able to find.He was a Fifty-Year Mason, an Elder-Emeritus in the Presbyterian Church, and a wonderful musician.Lunceford Long died in 1985 in Pensacola, Florida. - Josephine Butler (60 KB)

This is a photograph of my paternal grandparents, probably taken at their wedding, December 23, 1904.Theodore Joseph Muller was born in Germany, and came to America with his parents, when he was about seven years old.He served in the 1st Florida Infantry during the Spanish-American War.He took the Oath of Allegiance, becoming an American citizen, in Escambia County, Florida, on April 20, 1904.After the war, he served for many years as an engineer on the Louisville & Nashville Railroad.He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers, and Veterans of the Spanish-American War.He died in 1923.Corine Muller lived until 1951, for many years drawing a $13 per month pension check for Theodore's Spanish-American War service. - Paul Muller and son, David (59 KB)

Wiley Wilson, my great-grandfather, was born in Sandy Ridge, Alabama, on September 1, 1850.He worked building railroad bridges, which is how he happened to be in south Louisiana, when he met his future wife, Marie Odile Hall, in 1884.Wiley Wilson was a deacon in the First Baptist Church, Prattville, Alabama.He died on November 25, 1929, and is buried in the Prattville Cemetery. - Thomas Hicks Hall (1834-1910) (79 KB)
Thomas H. Hall, my great-great-grandfather, was born near Bayou Sara, Louisiana, about 1834.He was the son of Burr S. Hall and Elizabeth Anne Garnheart.In 1857 he married Louise Rosella Mourain, in the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a gunsmith or armorer. James Jackson, my 4th great-grandfather, was born in Georgia on August 10, 1773. He later lived in Alabama, and in 1818 was a representative to the Alabama Statehood Convention. He went on to serve several terms as both a State Representative and State Senator. This portrait hangs in the Alabama State Archives Building, Montgomery, Alabama. My great-grandfather, Lunceford Long, was born March 14, 1856, in Autauga County,Alabama.He attended Eastman Business College, in Poughkepsie, New York, with apparent emphasis on business and accounting.He eventually became an auditor for several steamship (riverboat) packet lines and railroads, located in the eastern part of the United States.He married Ellenor Hagerty in 1887.In 1895, he was living in Sheffield, Alabama, a major river port and railroad crossroads.Lunceford Long died in 1907.
