LINCOLN, Neb. - Dennis Neil O'Donnell, 57, Lincoln, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, in Papillion, as the result of an automobile accident.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include three sisters, Rose Jefferson, Pensacola Fla., Mary Mathews, Draper, S.D., and Kathy McNulty, Berthhoud, Colo.
Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. CST Saturday, Nov. 27, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pierre, S.D.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Pierre.
Isburg Funeral Chapel of Pierre is in charge of arrangements.
Dennis O'Donnell Dennis was born October 7, 1953 in pierre, SD to Francis and Zetta (Loughlin) O'Donnell. While growing up, Dennis attended school in Pierre, graduating from Riggs High Schoole in 1973. While in high school he participated in track and wrestling. He then spent 4 years in the Navy, stationed in San Diego and 7 years in the Naval Reserve, specializing in Aviation electronics, flying aboard TE-2A aircraft. While in the navy, he became a proficient scuba diver. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he attended South Dakota State University. Over the years he spent time in Colorado, North Carolina, and Nebraska working in construction, specializing trim and finishing work. He took great pride in his trade. While in Nebraska he was an avid Cornhusker fan and rarely missed a football game. Dennis is survived by his three sisters, Rose (Ivan) Jefferson of Pensacola, FL, Mary (Fred) Matthews of Draper and Kathy (Don)McNulty of Berthhoud, CO, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
