NS^22,^23,^24,²⁵, and died 18 April 1889 in Castlereagh, NS ^26,²⁷. She married ROBERT STARRITT FULTON^27,²⁸ 13 December 1864 in Great Village, NS ^29,³⁰, son of JOHN FULTON and SARAH CRAWFORD. He was born 27 June 1831 in Castlereagh, NS ³¹, and died 13 June 1904 in Onslow, NS³¹.

Notes for REBECCA JANE HOLMES:
River Philip Town Book contains birth registration that spells her name (incorrectly) as Rabecca Homes, and gives parents as Joshua Homes and Naomi Lockert. A descendant of 3 Mayflower families: Bradford, Brewster and Hopkins. Daughter of the Great Migration. 1st cousin once removed of Sir Charles Tupper, Prime Minister of Cda. Taught school for several years in Wallace, NS and boarded with non-relatives. Registration of marriage of her son Albert gives Wallace NS as her birthplace (possible error).

3. EMMA JULIA⁹ HOLMES (JOSHUA⁸, PELEG⁷, NATHANIEL⁶, PELEG⁵, JOHN⁴, NATHANIEL³, JOHN "THE MESSENGER"², THOMAS¹)³² was born 11 July 1850 in Cumberland Co. NS³², and died 30 January 1936 in Birtle, Manitoba ³³. She married DAVID BEATTY FULTON 1880 in Gladstone, Manitoba ³⁴, son of FRANCIS FULTON and CATHERINE BEATTY. He was born 1850 in Castlereagh, NS, and died 1938 in Birtle, Manitoba.

Notes for EMMA JULIA HOLMES:
In 1882 she travelled west from Nova Scotia to marry her friend David. Recognized by General Society of Mayflower Descendants as descendant of Pilgrim William Bradford.

Notes for DAVID BEATTY FULTON:
David and his brother James went from Castlereagh to Manitoba in 1878, traveling to Winnipeg (via the USA) by train and up the Assiniboine by river boat to Portage La Prairie. From there on foot to Gladstone. Emma came a year later. He was a farmer and raised some cattle. A skilled ox team driver he worked for some time on the railway bridges crossing the Mud River at Gladstone. Moved to Birtle 1919. Methodist.
