      61. William6 Chisholm (William (Steele)5, Alexander (Gobha)4, Donald3, John (Iain Gobha)2, Chisholm1) was born 1834, and died December 25, 1910 in Summerside, Antigonish Co., N.S.. He married Mary Chisholm. She was born 1844, and died August 30, 1937.

Jolene Chisholm gave me the following information when she wrote to me(1998):

      William Chisholm, son of William (Steele) and Ann Chisholm, was born in 1834. He was married to Mary Chisholm (b. 1844). their children are: Ann ( 1872 - 1970), William John (1875 - 1969), Margaret (1879 - 1957), Peter John (1882 - 1903). William Archibald (1884 - 1946) and Catherine (1887 - 1966. ther may have been another son Archibald, who died in 1874 at the age of one year. William Chisholm died at Summerside on 25 decenber 1910 and his wife Mary, died on 30August 1937. They are buried at Heatherton.

      89. Isabella6 Chisholm (Donald5, Finlay (Pioneer)4, Donald3, John (Iain Gobha)2, Chisholm1) She married John (Blacksmith) Chisholm, son of William Chisholm and Ann Chisholm. He was born 1838, and died April 28, 1912.

Notes for John (Blacksmith) Chisholm:
He was a Blacksmith who lived across the highway from Heatherton Church.

Jolene Chisholm gave me the following information when she wrote to me(1998):

      John Chisholm (Blacksmith) was born in 1838, the son of William and Ann Chisholm. He was married to Isabella Chisholm (b. 1843), the daughter of Donald (Finlay) Chisholm of Glassburn. They were married on 2 January 1868 at Pomquet. Their children are: Ann (1869 - 1951), Hon. William Chisholm ( 1870 - 1936), Dan (1872 - 1887), twins Mary (b. 1875) and Archibald (1875 - 1917), and Colin John (1881 - 1903).
      John (Blacksmith) originally built a house at Summerside and later moved it to the village of Heatherton. John took up the blacksmith trade at Afton and when he moved to Heatherton, he set up his blacksmith shop nearby. The house is located directly across from the church. He died on 28 April 1912 and his wife , Isabella, died on 26 October 1912, the last surving member of her family. They are buried in the parish cementry at Heatherton.
