* The Muschler Family Home Page*

Updated September 6, 2000

This page summarized data from the Muschler Family Genealogy compiled by Arthur Frederick Muschler between 1980 and 1998. It includes data from several other families related by marriage, including: Hough, Waterhouse, Beiver, Parker, Ries, Low, Loew, Marl, Jackson, Biedermann, Tschopp, Kanindl, Bleck, and Pavlik.
The Muschler line at the center of this tree dates to Johann Georg Muschler born in Wieltingen, Bavaria, Germany in 1713. In 1852, a father Johann Georg Adam Muschler and at least three sons emigrated to "Amerika". At least two brothers (Andrew and Frederick) eventually settled in Aurora, Illinois.

We are particularly interested in developing the history of the family prior to 1713. We have reason to believe that the family may have immigrated to southern Germany after 1648 from Austria near the Danube River.

The Hough line dates back to Edward Hough, born 1595 in West Chester, England, whose son William immigrated to Massachusetts before 1645. He married a Sarah Caulkins in Gloucester, MA on October 28, 1645. The family lived later for at least 5 generations in Connecticut.

We would gladly share information about the individuals in the lineage.
