The James Blackshire Musselwhite Family Home Page

James Blackshire Musselwhite is my great grandfather. Born September 04, 1856, he died May 25, 1925. Married twice, his first wife, Lena Charlotty Brown, died October 08, 1881. They married on November 11, 1880, in Georgia. He later married Mary M Whittle January 21, 1885. She was born December 19, 1863 and died Febuary 17, 1942. Mary Whittle and Blackshire, as he was called, had six children, Simon (oldest), Albert, Raymond, Ephriam Emmitt (he changed his name from James E. I'm told), Lola, and Mattie.Our family lived primarily in Georgia; although, I'm told, Blackshire moved briefly to Arkansas and died of a heart attack there. Simon moved to Florida as did Joanne. Blackshire was buried in the Musselwhite Cemetary located near or in Cordele, Georgia.
