William L. & Joseph Richard Youngblood
Posted by: Don Youngblood Date: August 03, 2000 at 07:12:14
Looking for ancesters of my gggrandfather William L. Youngblood, who died in the Civil War. Sons; Joseph Richard Youngblood, Jim Youngblood, and Green Youngblood. After William L. died in the Civil War his wife, Nancy, remarried and moved to Texas with her three sons. They moved from Alabama, to Texas arriving at Galveston by steamship about 1880. My ggrandfather Joseph Richard Youngblood, was born in Calhoun Co., Alabama in 1854. Joseph Richard Youngblood settled in Madison County. He was married to Amanda Eaves. They both are burried in the Rock Prairie Cemetary near Madisonville, Texas. Any information will be appreciated.

I have gathered further information on my family. William L. Youngblood was married to Elizabeth Craig. Their three sons were William H. Youngblood, Greene Youngblood and Joseph Richard Youngblood (my greatgrandfather). After his death in the Civil War, Elizabeth remarried to William H. Kirksey. They had no children together, I am told. William H. Kirksey is burried in the same cemetery (Rock Prairie Cemetery, Madison Co., Tx) as Joseph Richard Youngblood.

Going thru my papers I find a Mary Kirksey who married a Talbot. Her children were Jacob Talbot,
Sarah Talbot Green. It says Winefred mar. Edward Kirksey prior to 1799 as a deed of gift made to her by her grandfather, Jesse Hopkins. Death of Edward unknown, but Wineford was a widow as she was the adminastrator of his estate. Some of her children were living in Pike Co, Ala in 1858 when Winifords brothers estate was settled.. In 1831 in Edgefield SC when the estate of Jacob B. Youngblood was settled, there was listed a Nancy Kirksey. All names were connected by marriage to Jacob. Pg. 188 from unknown Book, I have a few sheets sent to me about 23 years ago. Wilma

My YOUNGBLOOD line of interest is-
1. Thomas YB m. Amy HOPKINS
2. Jacob B. YB m. Sarah STILL
3. James YB m. Elizabeth LEE

James YB was brother to your David who m. Matilda TALBOT
I did not have the TALBOT-KIRKSEY-Winnefred YB connection. Thank you.

I have some significant difference in data, re Thomas YB which I will comment on separately.

My focus at this time is on Elizabeth LEE, b. 1811, SC, whose parents were John and Sarah (Bean) LEE of Edgefield Co., SC. I have nothing on John LEE and would like to link him to his ancestors.

There is more to the LEE-YB connection.

A son of James and Elizabeth (Lee) YOUNGBLOOD was Jacob Bean YB, b. 7 Apr 1841 Pike Co., AL, who m. 2 Sep 1875 Pike Co., AL Queen Ann LEE, b. 9 Jan 1851 Pike Co., AL, d/o James Elias and Martha Ann (Singleton) LEE. James E. was son of William and Sarah (Champion) LEE.

I'm trying to determine if Elizabeth and father, John LEE, are related to Queen Ann and her father, James E. and her grandfather, William LEE. William and John LEE would be of the same generation.

Need some help here. Best regards, Hugh
