The majority of my research is from my mother, Violet Bertha Bliss Nagle Thurlow side of the family. Mom's father was John William Bliss who was born 11 November 1892 in Antelope County, Nebraska and her mother was Pearl Mae Reed, born 27 June 1901 at Reed City, Michigan.
My father Curtis Leonard Nagle was born 16 May 1912 possibly in Seattle, Washington. Court records show that when he was 4 months old a woman claiming to be his grandmother turned him over to Marion Maude Easterly Wright-DuBois-Finley-Cochran at the Butler Hotel, Seattle, Washington. Dad lived with Marion and her husband Abner Wright in Portland, Oregon. I have not found any documentation when or where my father was born but I am 99.9999% sure that his mother was Pearl Estelle Easterly Grennan Piper, the younger sister of Marion. I have a picture of Stanley Piper, a son of Pearl from her marriage to Louis Piper. The resemblence with me and Stanley is remarkable. In 1920, when dad was eight years old, Marion turned him over to the Seattle Childrens Home where, four months later he was taken into the home of Sarah Nagel who adopted him in 1921.
