My research started about 17 years ago, when I borrowed a copy of "The Descendants of John Irish" by Willis Luther Irish.There I found my father's line back to the immigrant.Soon I was wondering who were those wives who had married into the Irish family.Soon I discovered they were mostly from Rhode Island families and many were members of the Seventh Day Baptist Church.Since many of these families had genealogies published late in the last century, I was able to find access to The Babcock Genealogy, which turned out to have been authored by a 2nd cousin of my great-grandfather and a copy of The Descendants of Joseph Greene of Westerly, RI, which was also authored by a close cousin.So I guess research is in my genes.I have aquired a lot of information about RI families who resided in Washington, Newport and Kent counties andI now believe that I am related to anyone who ever lived in Westerly, RI before the Revolution.
