Homesteading in the EAST BLUE MOUNDS and SPRINGDALE areas of DANE COUNTY these families laid a rich foundation from which many today continue to prosper and grow. Springdale, MOUNT HOREB, Blue Mounds, MOUNT VERNON, VERONA, PRIMROSE TOWNSHIP, BLACK EARTH, etc are located just West of the Capitol City, MADISON, in South central Wisconsin.

My passion has been collecting stories from our elders before the stories have faded forever from memory. Most of my family history has been graciously handed to me. I have not spent much time "in the books." I am thrilled by the collections displayed in the Mount Horeb Area Museum, the Gerhart Naeseth Library at the Vesterheim Facility here in Madison and the leagacy historians of Dane County have preserved. Thanks and welcome to all who share in this passion.
