This home page documents research for Kreniks and Skluzaceks that originated from Dunajovice, Bohemia. On March 10, 2001, the descendents of the late Wenceslas and Mary (Skluzacek) Krenik gathered in Le Center at the American Legion for a family reunion. The late Wenceslas Krenik was a son of Jakub Krenik and Barbara Kocourek who were married in Bohemia in 1861 and traveled to America in 1862. Jakub and Barbara settled in New Prague, Minnesota, a Czech community at that time, and had 6 children: Descendants of Jakub Krenik (1829 - 1908) and Barbara Kocourek (1836 - 1911): Mary Krenik 1862 - ? Vaclav and Elizabeth independently traveled with their families to America from Bohemia in the mid 1800s. They were married in New Prague in 1871. In 1910, they purchased 320 acres of land on the east side of Le Center and moved there from New Prague. The Kreniks occupied this farm until Louis Krenik passed away in 1999. Several of the descendents brought pictures and artifacts from their ancestors: Mary Skluzacek's original wedding gown and veil along with the boutonnière Wencel wore at the wedding, a copy of Mary Skluzacek's confirmation certificate, and numerous pictures. A full family tree from Stastny Krajnik born in 1520 was displayed covering an area of 9' x 12'. The oldest grandchild present was Bob W. Krenik (son of Wencel G. Krenik), while the youngest grandchild present was Patricia (Krenik) Knish (daughter of John C. Krenik) with a difference in age of 30 years. John C.
