This family home page is being used for multiple families. You may contact either Stephen Nathan or David Kiesling at SJNathan@aol.com for additional information. We are seeking information on the following families:
KIESLING (KIESSLING) FAMILY (ATTN: KIESSLING FAMILIES IN SELBITZ, BAVARIA)
====================================================
John Kiessling was born February 22, 1846, in Selbitz, Bavaria, Germany. John married Emielie Auguste Bertram in Meerane, Saxony, Germany on November 26, 1871. Emelie was born in Meerane, Saxony on May 15, 1849. After John and Emielie married, they resided in Meerane. The two eldest children, Emil and Lina, were born in Meerane, Germany. John, Emielie, Emil and Lina immigrated to the United States sometime in 1878. We have reason to believe they immigrated sometime after June 1878. We are trying to verify the ports of departure and arrival. They then moved westward and settled in Middle Amana, Iowa County, Iowa, USA on April 30, 1880. John and Emielie had 4 additional children who were born in Middle Amana, Iowa. John, Emielie, and all their children, with the exception of Emil, are buried in either the Amana Colonies, Iowa County, Iowa or Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa. We are interested in finding out information on John's siblings and their ancestors.

The eldest child, Emil, was born January 5, 1871, and died in St. Louis, MO on June 18, 1940. We have found out that Emil Kiesling married Adela Leuenberger, who was born in 1874 and died in 1919. They had 4 children, Herbert, Clara, John and Ann. Emil, Adela, Herbert, John and Clara (and her husband, Charles Bowles), and the stillborn child of Herbert are all buried in Sappington, MO.

BERTRAM FAMILY (ATTN: BERTRAM FAMILIES IN MEERANE, SAXONY & KANSAS CITY, MO AREA)
=========================================================
Emielie Auguste Bertram, identified above, immigrated from Meerane, Saxony, Germany. We are seeking information on any siblings, parents, other relatives and descendants of Emielie Auguste Bertram Kiesling. She came to the United States with John Kiessling in 1878 and settled in Middle Amana, Iowa, in 1880. She is buried in Middle Amana, Iowa. While information is known about her children and other descendants, we have been unable to find out information about other members of the Bertram family. We have reason to believe that her siblings and their descendants may have settled in the Kansas City, MO area.

KOCH FAMILY
=============
Louis George Koch was born April 25, 1838, in Wiesloch, Baden Province, Germany. He married Henriette Meyer, who was born November 27, 1845, in Middle Ebenezer, New York, USA. We believe Louis immigrated to the United States in March, 1891. We are not sure if he immigrated to the settlement established initially on what was once part of the Seneca Indian Reservation outside of Buffalo, New York, or if he immigrated and settled immediately in the Amana Colonies, Iowa County, Iowa. We are interested in finding out any information about their siblings, their parents, or other ancestors. We are trying to find out if any other relatives immigrated to the US. Henriette died on April 19, 1895, and is buried in Middle Amana, Iowa. Louis died on January 27, 1929, and is also buried in Middle Amana, Iowa.

We are also seeking information on the ancestors of Elisabeth Kleihsly. She was born on November 3, 1796, in Bischwiller, in the province of Alsace. She also joined the religious commune of the Church of True Inspiration and immigrated to Middle Ebenezer, New York, before moving with the community to the area which was to become the Amana Colonies, Amana, Iowa. She died on December 28, 1868, and is also buried in Middle Amana, Iowa.
