| There are a lot more Naughtons out there than I thought,and this is going to be very fun and exciting. JOHN NAUGHTON was born Bet. 1775 - 1790 in Kilmallock, Co. Limerick, and died 1845 in Donoughmore, Co. Cork, Ireland. He married HONORA MEEHAN. She died 1836 in Donoughmore, Co. Cork, Ireland There is a story that used to be told that John Naughton was being chased on horseback by the British who were shooting at him and other Irishmen in the bunch, when John's horse fell and he hid by the horse as the British soldiers galloped by, thus saving his life. Maybe that's when and why he moved to Kilmallock, or from Kilmallock to Donoughmore. Children of JOHN NAUGHTON and HONORA MEEHAN are JOHN2 NAUGHTON. WILLIAM NAUGHTON, b. 1814, Donoughmore, Co. Cork, Ireland; d. 1902 PATT NAUGHTON, b. 1817, Donoughmore Co. Cork, Ireland. Patt. probably died very young. So they named another son Pat. CORNELIUS NAUGHTON, b. 1819, Donoughmore, Co. Cork, Ireland; d. Bef. October 1888. MARY NAUGHTON, b. 1821, Donoughmore, Co. Cork, Ireland; d. August 07, 1888, Wilmington, IL. MICHAEL NAUGHTON, b. Abt. 1824, Donoughmore Co. Cork Ireland; d. Abt. 1854, Virginia City, Illinois. PATRICK FRANCIS NAUGHTON, b. August 08, 1826, Donoughmore Co. Cork, Ireland; d. March 07, 1907, Wilmington, IL. |
