2.  ADA MACEL2 THOMAS (CALVIN A.1) was born December 01, 1897, and died January 29, 1971 in Roane County, Tennessee.  She married (1) JAMES BUNCH.  He was born Unknown, and died Unknown.  She married (2) CHARLES WILLIAM WILHOIT January 08, 1930.  He was born September 14, 1872, and died August 15, 1957 in Roane County, Tennessee.

Mrs. Ada Macle Wilhoit, 73, of Rockwood, died Jan. 29 at the Harriman Hospital.  Funeral services were held Jan. 31 from the chapel of Kyker Funeral Home with burial in Wilhoit Cemetery in the Cardiff community.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Launa Lawson, Harriman, Mrs. Margaret Russell, Rockwood and Mrs. Marie Moore of Kingston; one brother, Jessie Lee Thomas of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman was in charge of arrangements.


Notes for CHARLES WILLIAM WILHOIT:
Wilhoite Cemetery is located on the left side of Highway 61, Southern Railroad and TN Central Railroad.  Take Highway 27 (was Highway 61) north from Rockwood towards Harriman, and turn left onto the first farm north of the TN State Garage.  There is a little barn on the left of Hwy 27.  The cemetery is directly behind this barn about a thousand yards on the Boss Isham Farm.  Charlie Wilhoite got permission from Boss Isham to fence the cemetery as Charlie's mother was buried there.  Charlie Wilhoite also got permission to bury five more people there, including himself.  The information on unmarked graves and additional information was provided by Alvin A. Hembree.

It is stated that Mr. Wilhoite was not Launa's real father, however, she took his name and married Walter using that name.  It has been stated that her real father, a Jim Bunch, is unknown to any living family members.

Marie Wilhoit, Charlie's daughter, states that they were living in Chattanooga when her mother died.  She says she was 12 years old.  Her father was working as a night watchman for Shovel Manufacturing Company, in Chattanooga.  Later on, he met Ada Macel Thomas in Roane County when she was working for the Tedders.  They married and Macel became Marie's step-mother.  Marie says that Macel was very good to her - and that she never spanked her.  Marie states that Macel was from Pinhook, South of the River, Kingston.

She married WALTER KENT LAWSON December 04, 1938, son of WILLIAM LAWSON and SELAR WEST.  He was born January 09, 1919, and died September 18, 1989 in Rockwood, Tennessee.

Notes for LAUNA JEAN WILHOIT:
Charles Wilhoite was not Launa's natural father.  He married Macel after Launa was conceived, but took her as his own and raised her under the Wilhoite name.  Launa's natural father is believed to be a Bunch.

He was born May 26, 1936, and died September 07, 1989 in Knoxville.  She married (2) WILLIAM JOSEPH WARNER Private, son of WILLARD WARNER and EMMA LEFFEW.  He was born Private.

Notes for EDWARD NOLAND FILYAW:
There is reason to believe that Noland had another child - this lady introduced herself to Tina as her half-sister several years ago, but did not leave any way of contact in the future.  Her name was Sharon Cagle.  We are very interested in finding this half-sister of Tina's.

Noland spent time in the State Pen on a charge of Forgery.  This was for several checks (most for $27.00) written to different people in Roane County.  The checks belonged to Denis Morton.  Mom states that he didn't really do this, that he lied to cover for Paul (his brother) and spent the time really due to Paul.  Unknown if this is the truth, or just what he told Mom.  Records were found in Roane County Court for this, No. 2706 & 2705.  He was sentenced to 1 year in the State Pen.

Notes for CHRISTOPHER DREW COFER:
Christopher was born five months into my pregnancy.  After three days of labor, being transferred from Chamberlain Memorial Hospital in Rockwood, having to go through an ultrasound and being given something to make me go into full labor quicker, I finally had Christopher.  I was then rushed to surgery for an emergency D&C.  He was alive when born, but could not breath due to underdeveloped lungs, and died within minutes of birth.  He weighed 11 ounces and was as small as the palm of my hand.  I have a book with his pictures and tiny little hand and foot prints.  His footprints are only as big as the tip of my finger to the first line.  We buried him three days later (on Jason's birthday) in Cardiff Cemetary.  I've never faced anything harder than letting that casket get covered.
