She married Sylvester Cramer SCOLES in Adams Co., In, January 2, 1862. Sylvester was born Oct ober 5, 1841 in Knox Co., Oh. Sylvester died April 1, 1877 in Berne, Monroe Twp., Adams Co. , at 35 years of age. His body was interred about April 4, 1877 in Monroe Twp., Adams Co., In . The census records show that Sylvester's younger sister Hanna was born in Ohio in 1837 whil e his other sister Lydia was born in Indiana in 1839, indicating the family came to Blue Cree k Township, Adams County, Indiana, in about 1838. During the Civil War, Sylvester served in C ompany K, 23rd Regiment, Indiana Volunteer Infantry. The 1870 census for Monroe County, Wisco nsin, shows Sylvester and Nancy living there. Next door is her younger brother, Samuel Sacket t Major and his wife Harriett, along with their son James. Both Nancy and Sylvester died of T B in 1877. They tried to omake it back to Indiana, from Wisconsin, however Nancy died durin g the trip. Sylvester died just days after arriving back in Adams County. Their two childre n were raised by Margaret Scoles Tinkham, Sylvester's sister and wife of Dennison Tinkham.
