Their first home was a farm northeast of Lawrence, later they moved 2 miles east of Lawrence, then they moved to Lawrence in 1909.Later they purchased a section, 3 miles north of Lawrence.Their children attended Sacred Heart School at Lawrence and the rural Victor School, District No. 57.They went to church at St. Martin's, Loucky.Alois Mazour and his sons were progressive, industrious and innovative farmers and cattle feeders. They used the best farming methods and machinery in those times. They had their own threshing crew with Tom operating the steamer and threshing machine. After the hard work and years of getting established were over, came the time for the good life. They had for the thirties, the "luxuries" of electric lights from a Delko plant, an honest to goodness bathroom, large vineyard, huge orchard, and an ice house.A gold fish pond with a water lily, and a miniature lawn with a push mower was the joy of the grandchildren.Relatives and friends shared their hospitality, and fruitsof their orchard and vineyard.Alois and Anna retired to Lawrence, and Joe farmed the "home" place.
