| I am researching the Austin family, from the Southern part of England to Charlestown, Mass. Then from the surrounding states to Virginia to Hazelhurst (Copiah County) Mississippi. The Austins first appeared in the United States in 1638, with Richard Austin and his wife and two sons, Richard and Anthony. I don't know if Joseph Austin is a grandson or greatgrandson, but there is some relations between them. Joseph Austin married an Indian named Winnie I can't find any record of this, but I was told by several older relative, including my deceased mother that Joseph and Winnie exist. Please look through my Family Webpage and if you recognized any relatives or have information to add and/or correct please email me. DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES ON MY WEBPAGE, THANK YOU. However I have found research back to Robert Austin, a son of Joseph Austin, Robert is my Great Great Great Grandfather. Robert was married to Loucinda and both of them are Mulattos, born in Mississippi. Records show that Robert and Loucinda's parents were born in Virginia. I don't have a date when Joseph and Winnie left Virginia. And in Robert's household in Mississippi two of his daughters Ann Austin and Dora Austin had children by Mose Thompson. Dora Austin is my Great Great Grandmother. So this part of the family is called the Austin-Thompson Family. If anyone has any information please send it to me by mail, fax or email. Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have. I will be publishing, The Joseph Austin Family Book, Vol I, by July 1st, 2008. |
