* The Nelson (Carroll/Clark) Family Home Page*

Updated September 6, 2000

I am researching the Carroll family tree. Richard Carroll and Mary Clark, his soon to be bride, were steerage passengers from County Louth Ireland and County Armagh Ireland respectively, to New York in 1854. Married at Ogdensburg, N.Y. on November 11, 1854 they then moved to Manitowoc, Wisconsin in 1857, where they resided until 1888, when they moved to Holdrege, Nebraska. Richard and Mary raised eleven healthy children. Mary died on 1 April, 1891 and Richard died two days later on 3 April, 1891; some say of a broken heart. After a duo-funeral, Richard and Mary were buried in a single grave in the Holdrege cemetery: "In death as in life, together."
In addition, I'm researching the Charles Nelson family. Charles emigrated from Sweden on some unknown date and was naturalized as a U.S. citizen on 17 April, 1876. The Nelson family settled in Evanston Illinois, were several generations have been raised.

Any additional information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have
