HOMAS MULROYAN:
PIONEER IS DEAD TODAY - Thomas Mulroyan Dies at the Home of His Son Yesterday After Long Illness. - WAS A GATEMAN     
     
      Thomas Mulroyan, a pioneer resident of this city and for 20 years a gateman in this city for the Chicago & Northwestern railroad, passed away yesterday morning at 3:30 at the St. Mary's Hospital after an illness extending more than a year, the past few months of which his health failed rapidly. Although his health was not perfect, Mr. Mulroyan was not confined to his home, but was able to spend a great part of the time visiting with old friends.
      Funeral services are to be held tomorrow morning at nine o'clock from the St. Mary's church, with burial in the St. Mary's cemetery of this city. Mr Mulroyan was a member of the St. Mary's church of DeKalb for a number of years and had a host of friends who will mourn his death.
                 
                  BORN IN IRELAND
      Thomas Mulroyan was born in Galway Ireland January 6, 1849. His early youth was spent in Ireland, and in 1868 he has married. Shortly after the marriage Mr. & Mrs. Mulroyan moved to this country, making their home in DeKalb about 55 years ago.
      About 25 years ago Mr. Mulroyan entered the employment of the Chicago & North Western railroad as a gateman, being stationed at the Sixth Street crossing. Four years ago he was retired under the pension law of the railroad, since which time he spent his time at his home and visiting with friends in this city.
      Mrs. Mulroyan passed away four years ago last January, since which time Mr. Mulroyan's health gradually failed. The past year his health declined rapidly but his condition did not become serious until a few months ago when he began to fail rapidly.
      He leaves to mourn his death six children, T.E. Mulroyan of Dekalb, J.J. Mulroyan of Maywood, W.T. Mulroyan of Elmhurst, Mrs. John Fagan and Mrs. Earl Misner of DeKalb, and Mrs. David Leonard of Belvidere. He also leaves 27 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, in addition to a host of friends.
