From his obituary:
"The Wilkinsons. Our Saybrook correspondent notices the death of Mr. Thomas Wilkinson of that town. This death makes the second of the brothers who settled in the same town. They came from England and brought up families, accumulated comfortable properties, presided over large and well cultivated farms, and all were citizens of worth and sterling integrity. Their names were Henry, Thomas and Richard - the last, the only survivor. They were all patrons of the Telegraph office and our business intercourse with them has been of a very pleasant character." (The Telegraph, February 5, 1875).

From the Telegraph, Saybrook, February 5, 1875: "Our community were called upon last week Friday to pay the last tribute of respect to the remains of Mr. Thomas Wilkinson who departed this life at the age of 68 years. Mr. Wilkinson had been a resident of this town for many years. Rev. G. Dunmire preached a funeral sermon from a text found in Numbers xxiii, 10."
