From the obituary in the Ashtabula Sentinel, April 23, 1896, "Mrs. Ruth Wilkinson Massingham, wife of James Massingham, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. N. W. Townsend in Geneva, April 18, of pneumonia, aged 82. She was born in England and came to Saybrook with her father Henry Wilkinson in 1834. Mrs. George Hill of Jefferson is one of her daughters. Funeral on Sunday, April 19 at Saybrook."
