JOHN THOMAS NETHERCUTT FAMILY HOME PAGE

I am researching the John Thomas Nethercutt family from Duplin Co.[additional information indicates that he might have been born in Greene Co.] NC. He moved to Terrell Co. GA as a boy and when the Civil War broke out he joined the Confederate forces. John T. (b. 9/24/1837) married Dicy A.D. (Morland) Jones (b. 6/8/1845) in Terrell Co. GA on 10/29/1865. John T's parents were Nancy Nethercutt and Robert Kennedy. They were never married to our knowledge. And this is where I am looking for any information as to the parents of Nancy.
The family tree is pretty complete from this marriage to this date. The 1850 Census list John T. as a 13 year old living with William and Mariah Whaley and their three children in Duplin Co. NC. Since Nancy doesn't appear in later Census it's possible that she died before 1850. This would account for John T. to have been living with someone other than his mother. It's also possible that she could have been a widow.

Any information indentifying Nancy and her parents would be greatly appreciated. Without this link it's impossible to research our family history before 1837. I will share my information with anyone interested.
