| Aretta's family came to the U.S.A, in the 1600's Among her ancestors are two signers of the Declaration of Independance. These two are Dr. Benjamin Rush and Richard Stockton. Harold's family came to the U.S.A. from Germany - Family names include: Neumann - Vietzke - Strohback - Proehl - Jahnke - Von Holfeld - Plutchak - Porath - Deese - Sturm - Heibonsch - Schuster - and more. Other family names are Dunn - Rush - Rose - Clarke - Siegel - McCanday - Levering - Lavender - Spires - Kratzberg - Davis - Peart - Hall - Phillips - Boundinot - Stockton - Williams - Bass and many more Peter Rush was an actor who was on stage at the theatre when President Abrbraham Lincoln was shot He was also city controller for the city of Detroit Harold's mother Bertha Neumann grew up in the town of Rapid River, Michigan which is in the Upper Peninsula. Her dad was born in Germany but her mom in the U. P. Harold's dad Max Neumann was born in Germany but came to the U. P. at three years of age with his mother and dad a sister two brothers and his mother's dad. Aretta's Mom Pearl Rush was the oldest daughter of Benjamin Rush and Margaret Clarke of Van Dyke, Michigan Aretta's dad was Curtis Dunn son of George W. Dunn and Martha Levering of Wellston, Ohio Harold and Aretta are known as Harry & Terry. They were married in 1956 They have 5 chilren. 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren |
