The NICHOLS and EDWARDS of the English Midlands

You would think, wouldn't you, that with 32 GGGgrandparents you would find them spread around Britain like currants in a bun - with the occasional clump, of course. When I started searching for my forebears (NICHOLS, EDWARDS, MASON and HARDS) I looked forward to finding them in Scotland, Wales, Ireland and perhaps a few from Holland, France and Germany, but without exception they came from the English Midlands. OK, one of them was born in Lincolnshire, which is on the edge of the Midlands, but he settled in Staffordshire (after being pressed into Nelson's Navy - but that's a story for later).

So, if you are looking for people outside the counties of Warwick, Worcester, Stafford, Leicester, Derby, Northampton and Buckingham (except for the afore-mentioned Lieutenant BATES RN in Lincolnshire), you will be disappointed by my collection. Nevertheless, browse my pages and if you can find a bridge to another family or can add information to them I shall be delighted to hear from you. I shall also be pleased if you identify errors or alternative interpretations of the information; after all, I do not want to chase someone else's ancestry and ignore my own.
