Local research has traced my family line back to James Nichols of Newbergh Ontario or Hope in Durham county ON. James was Married to an Agnes Andrews Dec.28th 1876. He was 26 yrs. and she was 22.
James was born in England possibily in the High Wytcome (?)area in or about 1849. I havn't found any record of his birth yet.
His father was William Nichols of which I have no records as yet.
Family ledgend suggests the family roots come from the area of Skye, Scotland.
If anyone has information that could help I would like to hear from you.
