I am researching my mothers family line which has roots heading back to Scotland. George Jamieson who was born in N.Z. is her father and his father James Guthrie Jamieson was born in Leith Edinborough around 1850. His father James Jamieson and mother Margaret Guthrie.In her mother's line I am looking for McDonald. Alice Maud McDonald was her mother. Alice's parents Jane Scott born Girvan South Ayrshire Scotland 1841 and James McDonald born Glasgow Scotland 1839 and married 1860 Carlisle Cumberland. I have details of their voyage to N.Z.
Another name that I am interested in is Windibanks that originated from Alton in England.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone that can advance my research and will do my best to help pass on any relevant information that I have and also to do and small local research that may be asked of me. Sometimes local knowledge can be of assistance.
