I am relatively new to this research. I have been able to find a great deal of information about some ancestors, but am stumped on others. The surnames I am currently looking for include:
Carlson - My grandfather was Edwin R Carlson, Sr, who married my grandmother Hannah Andreesen in Anamosa, IA about 1930. His father Oscar Carlson married Helene Sofia nee Carlson in Moline, IL. Oscar had siblings named Andrew, Oscar, Emma, August (Gus)and Louise, but have no information on their parents. I have no info on Sofia's parents as well.
Andreesen - My great-grandfather Heinrich Andreesen emigrated from Leerhafe,Germany in 1907 to the Anamosa, IA area. His siblings' names were: JOHANN CHRISTOPHER MAR 1860 - 1907 CHRISTOPH 29 MAR 1860 - 28 MAY 1913 JOHANN 1866 - 1918 JOKOB SIEBELT 08 JUN 1874 - 1914 FRITZ 1870 - 1953 -ONLY OTHER BROTHER WHO CAME to US MARIA - M. GERHARD MANORATT IN 1918 - 2 SONS
Folkerts - Looking for ancestry information for Gerhard Folkerts, born Berdum, Germany 1838 to Johann Eilers Folkerts and Margaretha Elisabeth Janssen.
McDaniel - Robert McDaniel and his wife Luann (possibly nee McDonnell) were at Valley Forge, PA; he as a private and she as a nurse. After the War for Independence, they moved to Clarke County, KY and after his death she followed her sons to Sangamon County, IL. I have quite a bit of info on their descendants, but have been unable to find out anything definitive about their origins.
Carrico - James (W?) Carrico was a pioneer settler of Sangamon County IL, he died before 1834. He married his wife Sarah Constant, probably in Clermont County, Ohio prior to 1817. I have not been able to link him to any of the many Carrico families in MD or KY, though Sarah was born in KY. Looking for a breakthrough on this one.
Nicholson - Henry Nicholson was born in Hartford, CT in 1735 and died in Bridgeport VT in 1807. One researcher at least seems reasonably sure his parents were Henry Nicholson 1706 (Boston) - 1739 (Hartford, CT) and Hannah Spencer 1704 (Hartford CT) - 1782 (Springfield, MA). She remarried after his death. The mystery of the name of the first Nicholson (of our line anyway) to arrive in the New World remains.
Any information that will help will be much appreciated. I will be adding a tree to this page once I have deleted the information on those who are still living. I will also be glad to help others in any way I can.
