Descendants of Epps Tatum

Generation No. 1

      1. Epps1 Tatum (PeterA, PeterB, NathanielC, TatumD, TatumE) was born in VA, and died in Alabama. He married Sukie Pryor.

Notes for Epps Tatum:

1816 Alabama--Mississippi Territory, Monroe Co.
Peter Tatum--1 male over 21, 1 male under 21, 1 female over 21, 7 females under 21
Epps Tatum-1male over 21, 1 female under 21
Peter Tatum-1 male over 21, 2 males under 21, --female under 21

The Alabama Historical Quarterly, Vol. 3, No I, Spring Issue, 1941 Epps Tatum appears in a list of early Autauga County settlers (p 107), and (p 108): " The first jury ever summoned in the county was empannelled at Washington, on the 12th of April, 1820...names of the jury, as they stand upon the record were:.....Epps Tatum."

The land bought by Epps and William Tatum in 1831 (SE 1/4 of T 19, R 16 of Section 34) in Autauga Co, AL

Although some researchers have listed E. Tatum as in the 1830 Autauga Census, I have seen this census, and it looks like "C. Tatum" to me. There was also a Christopher Tatum during this time period, and I believe he is the one listed on the 1830.
