1. Thomas¹ Hawkins was born January 10, 1750/51 in Nottaway River, Virginia, and died October 05, 1849 in Lowndes County, Alabama. He married unknown Abt. 1790. She died 1803.

Thomas Hawkins had land grants on 8/14/1837 and 6/1/1845 in 28-13N-14E. Neighbors were: John Adams, Leroy Day, Eli Nobles, William Miller and Ephraim King who also had land grants at different dates in that same section/township/range. This also could have been this Thomas' grandson, Thomas Hawkins.

Thomas filed a pension application in Conecuh for Revolutionary Service while living in Union District, SC. Children were listed. Date & place of birth and death were given by John, his son. He had to continue filing after his death, as his first application was rejected. Thomas said he was born on the waters of Nottaway River, Virginia. He served in Cpt Brandon's Reg't and fought in King's Mountain, & Cowpens and served for several years.

Will of Thomas Hawkins - Lowndes County, AL

I, Thomas Hawkins, of the county of Lowndes and state of Alabama being
mindful of my mortality do this fourth day of April eighteen hundred and
forty seven make and publish this my last will and Testament in the manner
following.
First, I desire to be decently buried after the usual manner.
Second, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah Hawkins during her
natural life or widowhood all my estate both real and personal. After all
my just debts are paid, and at the death or marriage of my beloved Sarah
Hawkins that this estate left in her hands shall be sold and equally
divided among my lawful heirs.
And lastly I do hereby constitute and approve my dear son Wiley Hawkins
Executor of this my last will and Testimony hereby revoking all other or
former wills.

"In the matters of the final settlement of the Estate of Thomas Hawkins, deceased:
Stephen Hawkins, Calvin Hawkins and Francis Beckham, formerly Francis Hawkins, heirs and distributers of said estate come and except to the account filed by Wiley Hawkins, the Executor as follows to wit:...." (accusing Wiley of not charging his account with things he had received from the Estate)
