Our family consists of the surnames Nicholls, Capehart, Bryan, Martin, McGlouhan, Johnson, and Smith which come mostly from eastern NC; Scarborough (from Bucks County, Penn, originally), Hayworth (Haworth), Thomas, Lindley, Bailey, Kenneday/Kennedy, Morris and Gibson from Stokes, Guilford, Yadkin and Forsyth Counties, NC; and Bull, Leifer, Colt, Higgins and Winling from western NY.
I am searching for the family of Martha Caroline McGlouhan who married Joseph Bount Nicholls on November 5, 1846. They lived and died at Scotch Hall, Windsor, Bertie County, NC. Martha was my husband's great grandmother and we would so love to know more about her.
We are also searching for information on the family of Jaochim Henrich Bull, born in 1809 in Germany. He married Sophia Anna Von Rhoda, daughter of Johan Christian Von Rohde. He emigrated with his family to Buffalo, NY, in 1856. Jaochim Bull was found on a search I conducted on Family Tree Maker which led me to a User Home Page. There I found the Ancestors I had searched for for years and a new cousin who became a friend.
We are also searching for the ancestors of Nicholas Thomas born about 1794 in NC. He married Mary Ann Morris on October 28, 1812. He died about 1862 in Davidson County, NC. His wife, Mary Ann, was born about 1791 in NC. Her father was Joseph Morris. Her mother was Rachel Kenneday/Kennedy. Again, much of this information has been found through the help of the friends I have made through the many searches I have put out through Family Tree Maker and Rootsweb. For all contacts and friends made through this page, I am truly grateful.
