We are the fifth and sixth generation descendants of John S. Niccolls, b:1814, d: 1863 as best we have been able to track.
His first wife was Sarah (b: 1821) who bore a son, James Oliver,
b:1839, d:1926. James married Araminda and had: Harry, Lida, Sara (Sadie), Elmer, Anna, Minnie and Bell. His second wife, Nancy Lucinda Porch (b.abt.: 1834, d. abt. 1874) gave him: George, William, and Charles Overly. I believe either George or William was referred to as "Hubb" as I recall my grandmother and aunt often referring to "Uncle Hubbs".

The family, as I have been able to track it, was mainly located in Westmoreland Co., PA and possibly Fayette Co., PA and there I have lost track.

James Oliver Nichols was believed to be a carpenter and his son, Charles Overly was a railroad engineer.

At one time my aunts, Ruth Lowe Nichols and Nancy Lucinda Nichols told me that there was a genealogy of the Nichols/Niccolls family done by family living in California and I would be interested in hearing from anyone with any knowlege of this and giving you an update of the descendents of Charles Overly Nichols for the records.

If you tie into any of this information, please e-mail me.
