Whakapapa of The of NICHOLLS Marlborough,New Zealand.

As far back on the NICHOLLS side is John Howard NICHOLLS, my Great Great Grandfather buried here in Blenheim.

Our first official record of him in 2006 is his marriage to Dinah Frances HAYCOCK here in Marlborough on 15 September 1875.(formerley Mrs. Samuel REID) Her history goes back to the 1700's across what will be 10 generations.

I am hoping through this posting to find where JHN was born and to fill in the gaps.

We belive he was born in England about 1829. Myth has it he arrived in Adelaide New South Wales Austalia and was in New Zealand in 1836, some ten years before his marriage. His Father may have been John who was possibly a Teacher.
There may have been a brother James who arrived in New Zealand and possibly returned to England where he died.

JHN and the HAYCOCKS are recorded in early Colonist history in books on Marlborough. As are the Childern of John and Dinah.
