I am Researching the Parker family of Texas, Illinois, Georgia, Tennesee, Virginia, and Maryland. This Family came to Texas in 1833 and built Parkers Fort near present day Groesbeck, Texas in 1836 Comanche Indiands attacked the fort and a little girl, Cynthia Ann Parker was captured, she was adopted by the comanches married a comanche chief and had a son named Quahan Parker who became the alst chief of the Comanche Indians. The Parkers have a family reuinion on the 3rd weekend in July every year at the Fort Parker State Park, near Groesbeck, Texas. |
