Notes for SYLVESTER BARTOW:
Sergeant in the 12th Battery Light Artillary Brigade, US Army (Union) out of Wisconsin. He enlisted in Wisconsin and was killed in Allatoona Georgia. He's buried in the Marietta Nat'l Cemetery there.

Notes for NELSON MILTON BARTOW:
Nelson M. Bartow moved to Colorado at the same time that Chester and Mary did... probably went together.

After Chester died, Nelson stayed in Montrose Colorado with Sarah and her family. They lived in Colorado until Laura was born in 1878, then moved to Minnesota to farm with James Volney/Clarrissa (Calkins). After 1884, James and Clarrisa moved back to Wisconsin and Nelson moved back to Colorado.
