This photograph was taken by Star Studios in Milwaukee, Wisconsin circa 1906. The infant in the photograph is Joseph Gustave Nikolaus, who was born in 1906. Also pictured are Joseph Frank, Terezia Schlutt Nikolaus and daughter Terezia (a.k.a. Peggy). Shortly after this photograph was taken, Terezia and the children returned to Europe and settled near Paleshnik, Croatia. Joseph Frank joined them during the following year. While in Croatia, they were blessed with another son, Ferdinand, who was born on April 22, 1907. As of August 25, 1910, the entire family was permanently back in the USA.
