| Interested in the following lines: Alden, Allen, Bailey, Cummings, Freeman, Gills, Gould, Hersey, Keyser, Larkin, Locke, Luce, Marvin, Mott, Mullins, Niles, Putnam, Read, Reed, Sill, Turner. These lines are all 17th century New England lines: Braintree, Haverhill, Salem Village MA; Wilton, Haverhill, Rindge, Concord, Jaffrey NH; North Kingstown, New Shoreham RI; Hartford, Norwalk, Groton, Lyme CT; Montpelier, Plainfield, Alburg, North Hero VT. Am interested in any information about Matthew Marvin, who served with the 1st Minnesota Regt., in the Civil War. He lived in Minnesota, was born in Illinois. Need parents and vital records information. Also would appreciate any reference to Capt. Benjamin Marvin of Norwalk, CT. He served with Capt. Griffen's Co., 3rd New York Regiment, from Suffolk County, Long Island. Later Captain of the 4th New York Regt., serving under Capt. Henry B. Livingston. He rendered aid to General Benedict Arnold who was wounded, and dragged the General from the line of British fire and saved his life at the Battle of Danbury, CT. He served the entire Revolution and was present at the surrender in Yorktown. He was awarded a medal for conspicuous gallantry for his service. I would be interested in hearing from anyone researching the above lines and am willing to share any information I have. |
