(Daughter Ella appears on 1880 census).

They came to U.S. between 1857 and 1859. We have not located the ship that brought them here.

Maguire, Mary 30 (abt 1850) Ireland

Crenby, Daniel 40 census error: surname is Crowley!

James and Mary had a son after the 1880 census: Thomas Edward, my grandfather, who was born June 12, 1880 or 1881. Both James and Mary died shortly thereafter. Their child Mary may have died in Village of Valatie, NY on March 15, 1885.

Ellen is Helen Clare MaGuire on Marriage Certificate, was known in the family as Nell. Orphaned, she was raised by a Heeney family. On 11.26.1899 she married Eugene Heeney of Kinderhook, NY in Valatie, NY by Catholic Clergy. They lived in Kinderhook, NY at 1 Jarvis Lane and had no children.

James F.Maguire/McGuire was raised by a Sullivan family in Kinderhyook, NY. He married Hattie Hempler, had two children in Philmont: James 3d (4.1891 - 3.7.1917) and Albert (12.7.1892 - 7.29.1963). James, Jr. died 8.3.1918. Son James played baseball one season for a team called Chicago Indians. He died in Bridgeport, CT.

Thomas Edward, my grandfather, was raised by a Dugan family in Valatie, NY. He married Ida May Rowe of N. Chatham 9.23.1905. Thomas worked in mills in Chatham and Stockport. He died in Stockport 10.24.1958.

Ida May Rowe was the daughter of Abraham Rowe and Ella Hicks of E. Nassau. She was born c. 1886 and died in 1921. She and Thomas are buried in Stuyvesant Falls cemetery.

After her death, Thomas married Margaret E. Wilson of Rhinebeck, NY 5.22.1922. It was her 4th marriage.

Thomas and Ida May had two sons: my father, George Kenneth McGuire, born 8.29.1905; and Thomas James McGuire, born 3.23.1908. Both were millworkers.

Great great grandfather Thomas may be the Thomas McGuire who died in the Alms House in Ghent, NY August 2, 1893 at age 77.

My given name is Ida Mae McGuire and would love to hear from anyone with comments or information relating to any of the above.
