Z. Williams. In February 2004, I extracted the names of the shareholders and the amount of shares each person owned. I found that some of these do not match. For example: This record gives the information of a Welcome Arnold owning 4 shares, and a William Arnold owning 2 shares. Williams History gives Welcome Arnold also owning 4 shares, but gives William Arnold as owning 8 shares. However, I find that this record and the information given in Williams History to be equally important. Both gives us some of the same information. Also, each one gives us different details, such as the history of the Ohio Company, how the shares are broken down, what Agency the shares were purchased from, and how some people who bought shares were purely for speculative motives and never settled in the territory of which part they owned a part. I highly recommend that anyone reading this, please check out Chapter XI "Later History of The Ohio Company in the book, History of Washington County, Ohio, by H. Z. Williams.
