* Nockels, Westermeyer, Kalen & Meis of Northeastern Iowa*

Updated September 2, 2002

The family history of the Nockels,Westermeyer,Kalen and Meis famlies. They migrated to the United States from Germany, Prussia and Belgium in the early 1800's, through the Ports of New York and New Orleans, via the Erie Canal and the Mississippi River to the northeastern part of Iowa, to the communities of Alta Vista, New Hampton, Decorah and Dyersville and other communities in that part of the state. Since then the families have spread across the lenght and breath of the United States. I am looking for any information about these famlies. If you would have any information about these family and even photographs, they would be treasured and returned to you after I have entered their history in to my family history book.
